In 1978, Steven Richardson, a British writer and a wine passionate felt in love with the beauty and serenity of New-Zealand country and with the marvel of its wines. With his wife Joanne and his daughter Martha, he made the decision to follow his passion for wine. To celebrate the winery 20th anniversary in 2000, they created Martha Hills wines as their personal signature and the expression of the terroir.
